Digging Deep...

24 hours of air travel: Santa Ana, Chicago, London, to Nairobi. Thank goodness for the movies/t.v, food and people watching because left alone with my own thoughts can be quite overwhelming. What I have learned so far:
1) There is truth to the stereotype that Brit's don't know crap about food. How would you like to hear your flight attendant ask you "Fish pie or Sour Chicken"? Do I dare reply: "I would rather puke"?
2) Mullets are not just fashionable in Sacramento, apparently Great Britain is fond of the look also!
Now, I have done some soul searching during these hours of travel and discovered a few things about myself and it is best explained by comparing myself to my travel partner Melissa:
1) Melissa is very good! She is nice, polite, positive, and giving. Melissa says "hello" to all those she meets in stores, restaurants, bathrooms..where ever. During our flight to London, Nurse Melissa assisted a fellow traveler on the plane that complained of feeling suicidal.
2) I am bad! I don't trust anyone and feel like a smile is good enough-at best. I sat in my seat while she attended to the sick passenger. I did not want to be bothered by anyone else's suicidal thought and the thought of missing the ending of my movie was quite dreadful. Plus, I enjoyed the extra sitting space while Melissa was at the back of the plane making sure we didn't have a death on our flight!
Maybe this is something I could work on? Selfishness seems to be a common thread in my life right now, I worked so hard to get here but maybe I am taking it a bit far?? Please this is not a question for anyone to answer....no need to comment on this.
Actually, we are having a fabulous time and everyone-especially in Kenya-has been so kind. They love to talk about Obama....everyone loves to ask me about the political state of America right now.
Stay tuned, it is bound to get more interesting!!!

Rules Are For Fools....

Typically, I don't care for rules but it may be important to set some things straight:
1) I will try to keep my stories Short and Sweet and to the point!
2) Spelling errors must be forgiven
3) I can change the rules at anytime!

**Ok, I have not stuck to rule number 1 but as I said before, I can break the rules anytime!!

Additional rule as of 17-9-08:
4) I can use whatever slang I have picked up during my travels.
